The Koral Art Gallery and the environment
The Koral Art Gallery does not in any way harvest living corals from the reef. We believe we should protect the enviroment in any way we can. All our materials are either found on the shore after a storm or have been collected from the waters of Curacao after a storm has broken them off from the reef. For instance, one of the recent tropical storms called "Omar"caused significant damage to coral reefs all over the Caribean basement.
Black Coral Cultivation
From studies performed by the Koral Art Gallery it has been proven that Black Coral can be planted and grown like the trees on land.
The Coral Art Gallery has in the past years undertaked to plant living samples of Black Coral on underwater objects and have found that these corals can be re-planted much like trees on land.
